For nearly 20 years have I studyed different indigo dyeing methods and techniques in India, Vietnam and Japan. And most recently I attended a natural dyeing workshop for the master dyer Michel Garcia at Konstfack. In November 2019 I was invited as "Artist in Residence" in Ajrakhpur, Kutch, India where I explored the tradition of using natural pigments in combination with indigo printing- and dyeing techniques used among block printers. In 2018 i also took a master class for Aboubakar Fofana. His vision and practise is a great inspiration of mine.
I conduct workshops and lectures in indigo dyeing and other natural dyes as well as pattern making with different Shibori techniques for both students and professionals. Shibori is a Japanese word for folding, stitching, weeping, compressing, pleating and in different ways resist the surface from getting dyed and thus create patterns. My indigo workshops also includes different methods for pattern making with both dyeing and printing techniques.
Next workshop take place at Capellagården summer course "Mönstra med färg" June 28th until July 4th 2020.
The indigo workshop that was supposed to take place May 1st – 3rd will be moved to 18th – 20 th of September.
